Road Ready Driving School instructor

Who are you and how good are you?

My name is Audrey Wixon and I am an A-grade instructor - which is the top grade awarded by the DVSA. I have 22 years of experience as an instructor and a consistently good pass rate. I am also a DIAmond, IAM and RoSPA Gold Advanced Driver, a motorcyclist and the author of this driving book. I named my driving school Road Ready because my aim is to help you feel comfortable driving alone on any road, anywhere, and in any situation.

What areas do you cover?

Lee-on-the-Solent, Gosport, Fareham, Stubbington and Titchfield.

How much do you charge and what discounts do you offer?

You can check out the price list here.

What car do you have?

It is a dual controlled manual Ford Fiesta.

How long will it take me to learn to drive?

The DVSA's website says: “On average, it takes people 45 hours of driving lessons with 22 hours of practice with relatives or friends to learn to drive.” My pupils generally require fewer than that - a complete beginner with no private practice usually takes 30-40 hours to reach test standard.

How long are the lessons?

You can have lessons of one hour, 1.5hrs or 2hrs in length.

Will you shout at me?

Absolutely not! Nobody makes mistakes on purpose. Lessons will be at your pace and I will try to make them fun. Check out the testimonials page for more info.

Where will you pick me up from?

I provide a door-to-door service locally - but it doesn't have to be the same door! You could start your lesson from school or work and finish at home, for example.

How do I pay?
